Wow…it has been so long. I have been a very busy girl with work and school, and the kids, and everything else.

I was reading my last post and I am glad that I started this blog. I really need to keep this up…so fun to read my nonsense.

Holidays are coming…

The air is starting to cool especially in the mornings. Time again to take out our sweaters, jackets, turtle neck shirts, scarves, gloves, and other stuff that will help to keep us warm on those very cold days.

In two days, the kids will experience another sugar overdose. I am sure that everyone is glad that Halloween this year falls on a Friday…for their own reasons. We have a few decorations around the house this year…a vampire Mr. Potato Head from Target, and the wicker lighted pumpkins Jay bought for me after Halloween last year. I filled up my apothecary jars with candy corn and Julio and I carved a pumpkin last Saturday to add to our “Halloween table”. We also bought a glowing pumpkin for our doorway and hopefully I find some brown bags to make luminaries for Friday night.

If you go to the stores Thanksgiving and Christmas merchandise are all on display. The kids already have an idea of what they want to get. I am checking other people’s blogs for some creative ideas for our decor this year. On our errand to the store today, I picked up a Southern Living magazine, while waiting at the cashier line, and found one decorating idea that I am excited about.

is the month that I get to see my friend Jinggay, celebrate mother’s day, wish my brother happiness as he turns another year older, make a crown for Julia my niece, watch “The Police” in concert, enjoy more of the outdoors, and do my happy dance as another school year comes to a close.

April was a busy, busy month. We are all so happy that the weather is warmer and we started to enjoy the outdoors. Jay finished seeding our grass and cleaning the backyard. With my mom’s help, the flowers in my small garden are in bloom.

I was sick a few weeks before ( case of the bad sore throat and cough that had been going around in the Lone Star State for some time now) . Luckily, I was able to recuperate just in time to celebrate.

On February 23, we had lunch at Tony Thai to celebrate Vince’s, Karls’ and my birthday…thanks Tita Carol!!! The food was more than wonderful…they made my taste buds do little cart wheels…weeeee!!!! I think everyone should try the papaya salad.

I had to work on the day of my birthday, and the special ed department had a little surprise party for me… I am so lucky to work with some great people whom I adore and need to appreciate more. There was also a little celebration at home that night. All in all it was a quiet day but there was so much to be thankful for.

Inspired by another blogger, I came up with 37 things that I have done in the past year. It was not so easy but it was a good way to think and look back at not only the big things but the “everyday” things that sneaked up from behind making me who I am today. I’m hoping to scrapbook a page of that list and maybe post a photo here soon. Also, planning to make it a birthday tradition.

Last Saturday, March 1, saw the Michael Buble concert… it turned out to be one of my favorite dates with Jay. Loved the music and the show and I loved that my husband went out of his way to make sure that we get to see it.

So, 38 isn’t bad at all… and no, I did not get any of the things that were on my wish list from the previous post but I had an awesome birthday and would never trade it for anything!

V-Day!!!

I had to go to bed early last night because I need to be well enough to go to work the following day for an important meeting (state requires it). Before I went to bed, I grabbed my hand made mini book/card for Jay to give him in the morning. I was going to surprise him thinking that he will not be expecting anything from me because we got each other the watches, right? Wrong.

Morning comes. I wake up at around 5:20 gasping for air. My nose was clogged up and my ears feel funny. I guess I woke Jay up with my turning and twisting. I grabbed the chance and reached for my hand made card. Ha! I got him this time…but, again I was caught by surprise…he hands me a card, I open it and read (I can tell that he had put so much thought into buying this particular card). And lo and behold, tucked neatly inside the card… two tickets to the Michael Buble concert on March 1! aaaawwwwww…

I did go to work but had to leave early…did not even get the chance to have my meeting. My boss was too scared to catch my virus and we had to ask another SpEd teacher to take my place. So Jay and I had burgers and chicken strips for lunch together when I got home and he immediately had to leave for work.

And going with the theme… I have my heart jamamies on….everyone should have one…

Have a nice, romantic, cheesy, lovely, surprising, and candy filled Valentine’s!!!

Sick

Unable to go to work today. I had a slight fever yesterday and an irritating, uncomfortable pain in my ears (no fun at all!!!). My voice started to get croaky late afternoon and now I have none.

When I woke up this morning I saw Julio standing by my bed, ready for school. He left Coco Puff right beside me. I guess to keep me company and give comfort.

Thank you my sweet boy!
